The Women in Engineering and Information Technology forum organizes workshops, social events and mentoring for female CS and Engineering students.

SoCS Student Handbook

The School of Computer Science Student Handbook (PDF, 655Kb) tells you lots of things you need to know about studying computing subjects, assessment policies, what's acceptable group work, what's not acceptable (and might be counted as plagiarism), how to appeal results, how to have your voice heard.

First Year students will get a printed copy of this handbook in their Information Pack. New students should also receive a Student Computing Environment User Guide . Spare copies are available from the noticeboard area outside the CSIT Labs, or through the SoCS Office.

Other documents: ANU Undergraduate Handbook, SoCS Assignment Cover Sheet

Other important things you are expected to know about: ANU Code of Practice for Teaching and Learning, ANU Academic Honesty and Plagiarism.

Some Notes on Assessment Issues

  • In any course, the ANU Academic Honesty and Plagiarism policy applies, whether that course explicitly warns against plagiarism and/or `unacceptable collaboration' or not.
  • All courses will provide an Assessment Scheme indicating how final marks will be calculated. It should be noted however that final marks in any course may be scaled by the Course Examiner, for example as a result of advice from the School's Examiner's Meetings.
