Aims:
This module is designed to teach good data management practices.
Objective:
After successful completion of COMP1900, students should be able to create, organise, and backup files on a Mac computer.
Proposed Syllabus
Files - file types (doc, xls, html, gif, jpeg, ps, pdf, ...)
Folders (directories)
Filing systems - choosing a folder/file heirarchy for your data
Naming files and folders - choosing names, avoiding blanks and upper-case characters
Paths
Updating files, keeping previous versions
Backing up files
Aliases
