COMP8100 Software Requirements Elicitation and Analysis

Welcome to COMP8100 for 2009.

COMP8100 is an elective for MITS and MCOMP Masters programs within the College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS). The course is intended to provide novice and experienced software developers with practical information concerning requirements elicitation, analysis, development and management techniques that have been found to significantly enhance the success of software projects. The underlying purpose of the course is to help software engineers realise that attempting to solve a problem without first defining the problem is time wasting, costly, and negligent. However, the course is also designed to inform participants of some of the shortcomings of available techniques and that research is still being conducted to help overcome those shortcomings.
