INFS2052 Internet and Intranet Information Systems

Assignment 1

Deadline : 5.00pm Wednesday April 14 1999

Assessment : 10% of overall mark

The aim of the assignment is to develop an ANU Bar and Activities Web Page. The web page should provide information on future activities and events occurring at the ANU Bar.

The Web Page must appear similar on any HTML 3.2 compliant Web Browser.

A maximum of 6 marks out of 10 will be allocated for good design. In addition, each requirement met will be worth 1/2 mark.

Requirement for the assignment are as follows:

Assignment submission

Submit the ANU Bar's home page in a file called anubar.html. This file and any other html files that you create as part of your assignment should all be in the same directory, and should all be submitted. Links to files you have created should be relative links of the form href="next.html", so that they will work even when the files are relocated. Use the submission tool for submitting your files.

Files that you have found on the Internet should NOT be submitted as your work; your documents should have URL links to the external documents. You should avoid copying or closely paraphrasing material from the documents that you find, including those of your friends (that's plagiarism). If you feel it necessary to include material from someone else's document, then it should be clearly identified as such, identifiable as quoted material by layout or quotation marks, and proper attribution made.

Submit only your own html files. In general material found on the Internet should be accessed via links to where you found it. If you have graphics that you created, or if you feel it was absolutely necessary to make a local copy of something, then leave it in your public_html directory and make the link to it an absolute URL (e.g. http://iwaki/~johc1999/gifFile.gif), so that if your submitted files are moved elsewhere, the links will still work.
