High Performance Scientific Computation

Semester 2, 2020

It is said that there are four paradigms of scientific discovery: experiment, theory, computation and large scale data gathering and analysis. Both the third and fourth paradigms are intricatedly linked to high performance computing. This course will introduce you to that world. It will cover computational modelling, numerical computing, algorithm design, computer architecture and parallel computing. It will use the state of the art facilities available at the National Computational Infrastructure facility on the ANU campus.
