Indicative assessment

As the course contains two parts (typically) taught by different lecturers, there will be different approaches to assessment for each part. The QUALITY part of the course will contain two assessments, both of which must be passed to achieve an overall pass to the course. The PROCESS part of the course will follow a similar assessment pattern and achievement requirements.
Verification and validation planning assignment.
Percentage: 25% of total marks for course.
Details: This assignment will present students with some early artefacts of a software development project, from which they will be required to write a verification and validation plan, including test cases and (perhaps) some test examples. Before attempting the assignment, students will be required to form specific teams of four (or possibly five if numbers dictate).

Final Examination PART A
Percentage: 25% of total marks for course.
Details: A set of several questions (probably 4-6) will be presented to students from which they will be asked to select some to answer (probably 3). Questions will cover quality, inspections and testing.

Final Examination PART B
Percentage: 25% of total marks for course.
Details: A set of several questions (probably 4-6) will be presented to students from which they will be asked to select some to answer (probably 3). Questions will cover both PSSM and CMMI.
