Assessment will be via a combination of practical exercises throughout the semester, and an open-book exam covering theoretical and practical aspects.
Assignments ;
Percentage: 60%
Details: 2 Assignments - the first worth 20%, as a "practice run" for the main event, and to diagnose problems in understanding early. The second worth 40%, building on lessons learnt in the first assessment,and assuming that imperfections of understanding revealed in the first assessment have been remedied.
Due date: 1st due by 23:59:59 05/04/13 (worth 20%) 2nd due by 23:59:59 17/05/13 (worth 40%) These dates are provisional, and subject to change.
Final Examination
Percentage: 40%
Details: 3 hour open book exam. Any texts and written notes may be taken in, but there won't be enough time to look everything up if you don't have a good grasp of the basics.
