Artefact portfolio submission
The aim of this report is to explain the work you have completed as part of the project since the completion of the mini-project and up until this point in time. This report provides a check point for the course coordinator to determine that you are making sufficient progress. This is an individual report of you contribution and progress within the group. The report will be marked out of 100. And is worth 10% of the final mark. A late penalty of 10% per day applies (these are working days). Also note this penalty is caped so it does not take your mark for this report below 40 out of 100. This report will not be accepted after the last day of semester 1. Extensions are possible in documented exceptional cases (e.g. medical certificate).
The report must be at most 2 pages and contain the following:
- A title.
- Your name and student id, the team and project you are part of.
- Abstract - Overview of what you did and any outcomes.
- Summary of the tasks you have undertaken from weeks 7 to 10 of Semester 1. This should be a list with each item in the list including: a short description of the task, an estimation of how long the task took you, the level of the difficult/complexity of the task, and a link(s) that point to artefacts stored in the svn repository or redmine. Also place a "star" next to the task you are most proud of or provides the most significant contribution to the group.
- Motivation for undertaking these tasks.
- Outcome from undertaking these task and how you plan to make use of them in your teams project.
- Generally Discussion.
- Conclusions and Future Directions
In-addition to the main 2 page report you may attach appendices.
Use a 1-column report format with a 10 point Times-Roman font. The report must be in pdf format that is viewable on the lab machines.
Marks will be given based on:
- The extent, utility, and quality of the work you have done (this will involve the marker accessing and viewing documents within svn and redmine).
- The clarity of the report.
To give you an indication of marks I would expect:
- done very little and a poor report: 0-30
- made some contribution to project with a poor report or made little contribution and a great report: 30-50
- done a minimum amount with an okay report : 50-60
- made a sufficient contribution (some issues with quality of what is done) with an okay report: 60-70
- made a good contribution with high quality artefacts and written a clear report: 70-80
- overall excellence all round (contribution, quality, and report): 80+
Assignment Submission
The assignment must be submitted via a computer in the CSIT labs (or remotely via ssh to partch or one of our servers). If you are in comp3100 submit the assignment using the following command (replace u1234567 with your unit id):submit comp3100 portfolio3rdyear port1u1234567.pdfOr if you are in comp3500 use:
submit comp3500 portfolio3rdyear port1u1234567.pdf
A few hits for submission:
- Don't have spaces in your file names (the submit program does not like them!).
- Copy the files to your home directory, rather, than having them mounted on a USB drive.
- You may submit as many times as you like, I will mark the most recent one that is not late.
