4th Year Chats

In the weeks that we have a workshop there will also be meetings between the course coordinator and a small groups of 4th year students. This is just for the 4th years. These groups start in Week 1 and you can register for a group via streams. Once the project groups have formed and determined their projects (from Week 4 on), these "4th year chats" will be reorganised such that these groups will contain the set of 4th years that are doing the same project. So these groups will be re-shuffled at the end of Week 3.

These meetings will go for 15-25mins. They aim to: provide a way of obtaining administrative information from the course coordinator, provide a way of monitoring each groups progress, and provide a meeting point for the fourth years that are doing the same project.

Participation in these short meetings will be marked. Each meeting is worth 1 mark and the best 16 (of the 20 meetings over the year) will be used to determine the final mark. They are worth 5% of a COMP4500 student's final mark and this mark out of 5 will be calculated as follows: 5 * (sum of the best 16 participation marks) / 16 .

The meeting will take place in either: Eric's office (N227), the meeting room N233, or the meeting area outside Eric's office. This will depend on the groups size and N233's availability. Just meet outside Eric's office and we will find a spot to meet.
