COMP3100/COMP3500/COMP4500 - SE_Projects
Reflection homework : 10%
Reflection homework will be completed using Google Sites. We have decided to do this rather than use Wattle blogs because it provides ready access to your work as well as permitting some flexibility in how work is presented and to whom you provide access.
NB: Students may use their Google Sites web site for their learning journal.
Students must follow the procedure set out below in order to create a Google account and web site for the purposes of this course.
Using their indvidual Google Sites website, students will be required to write two questions which address the topic -- as indicated on the course schedule -- for that piece of homework.Once written, the question needs to be evaluated to determine whether it is a question:
- to which they or their peers could reasonably be expected to know the answer?
- to which they would know the answer if they had read the material provided through the course website and/or they had googled it?
- to which they don't know the answer as they are unsure how to apply the solution to their project?
The aim, of course, is to write questions of type c. During the course mentors will check student blogs and may provide feedback. Students need to note the type of question they believe it to be.
For each question, students need to discuss briefly the reasons they need to know the answer, i.e. what benefits they hope to obtain through having the question answered.
Assessment
- Each Stage 1 competencies self-assessment = 2%
