eCommerce at ANU?

It's a combined degree course in

Bachelor of Commerce/

Bachelor of Information Technology

Electronic Commerce is what's involved in all aspects of the New Economy–the new ways of handling information directly between businesses and from business to consumer, where there's a big emphasis on electronic speed and directness. There is pressing demand from business, industry and government for people who can understand and work with eCommerce, from new businesses who aim to make big money quickly, and from established businesses redefining themselves to carry their success into the new economy.

eCommerce =
BCommerce & BInfoTechnology

A degree program in Electronic Commerce is an excellent preparation for the immediate job market–and gives you “future proofing” to handle the next decades of growth and change. An eCommerce degree course includes an integrated understanding of business organisation, finances and accounting practice, and how information technology works and how it is applied in the modern world. Some universities have new courses with eCommerce in their names-and some, like the ANU combined degree in Commerce and Information Technology, are existing courses which are ready for eCommerce.

The Australian National University has many years’ experience with its high quality combined degree program in Commerce and IT. This is a popular course, but there is still face-to-face involvement, with modern computer laboratories and Internet access. In this combined course you can study for two degree qualifications in just four years. The course is right up to date for 2001 with specialised units in Electronic Commerce and Information Technology for eCommerce, and it will keep on being adaptive to teach the fundamentals needed for the new technology and the new economy.
