Description: "Project Presentation: A Student Enrolment System 
             based upon web-based SQL-database applications"


                        Abstract

A presentation of a project that examines how the process 
of Student Enrolment (mainly Atles and Tycho) 
can be enhanced by using modern database technologies 
with web-based user interfaces.
 
 OVERVIEW:
 
 The presentation will cover the following topics (10 min each):
 
  - brief overview on the current process of Student Enrolment 
    and its according technical infrastructure (DBMSs, apps, etc.)
 
  - presentation of the new approach/database model and its advantages
 
  - quick demonstration of a server-side Java application solution
 
  - discussion of new features which are to be implemented 
    (modules, security issues, etc.)
 
 This will be followed by a question and answer session 
 where especially tutors and lecturers can inform themselves 
 about how this approach can enhance the way they work 
 with student information.
 
 
Biography: Mr Andreas Bauer is a student of 
Information Technology/Psychology 
at the Technical University of Munich, Germany, and  
a Visiting Fellow at the Department of Computer Science in ANU.
