Title: Department of Computer Science Seminar Date: Tuesday, July 18, 2000 Time: 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm Venue: Room N101, CSIT Building [108] Speaker: Dr Peter Christen (CS Lab at ANU) Description: "Parallel Algorithms in Data Mining - The ANU CSL Data Mining Approach" Abstract Data mining deals with the analysis of large data sets to find patterns and relationships hidden in the data. This seminar talk starts with a brief introduction to data mining, followed by a presentation of the algorithms and techniques that are currently developed in the CSL data mining group. Our parallel predictive modelling techniques are discussed and an overview of our project experiences is given.
