4. Title: SurfIt! - A WWW Browser

5. Target Audience: honours students and above

6. Abstract: SurfIt! is a WWW browser implemented entirely as Tcl/Tk script
	     code.  It has most of the features often found in modern
	     Web browsers.  By virtue of its being written in Tcl/Tk, it
	     easily supports Tcl applets downloaded from remote sites.
	     SurfIt! also actively supports "hypertools" - loosely-coupled,
	     tightly-integrated Tcl/Tk applications.

	     In addition to the above talk (to be presented at the
	     1996 Tcl Workshop in July), a demonstration will be given of
	     the newly-released Tcl/Tk plugin for Netscape 3.0.

7. Biography: Steve Ball is a software engineer with the PASTIME hypermedia
	      project of CRC-ACSys.  He will shortly commence a collaborative
	      research project with Sun Microsystems Laboratories, the focus
	      of which will be the development of the SurfIt! browser.
