Abstract: KidSpace is an internetworked 3D virtual environment for kids 7-11. It is a system that kids find at least as interesting and engaging as the current generation of games. But, instead of using violence and destruction as vehicles for entertainment, KidSpace uses communication, collaboration and construction to deliver socially responsible and educational entertainment. Through a media-rich, networked and game-like interface, KidSpace aims to educate kids about Singapore's National Heritage. KidSpace is scheduled for national roll-out in Singapore in April 1997. In this talk, we will present an overview of KidSpace. 6.
