6. Abstract:

This is intended as the first of three workshops in electronic commerce.
Its purpose is to scan the area from the viewpoint of businesspeople, and
identify aspects of interest to computer scientists.

7. Biography

Roger Clarke spent a decade as Reader in Information Systems in the
ANU's Department of Commerce.  He returned to full-time consultancy in
mid-1995, and practises in electronic commerce, information
infrastructure, and privacy and data surveillance.  His primary
orientation is to organisational strategy and public policy; but he
tries to stay in touch with the technical underpinnings, and hence
highly values his interactions with DCS people through his Visiting
Fellowship in the Department.
