A new breed of computing graduate

Dr Henry Gardner, Head of the School of Computer Science, talks to Alex Sloane, ABC 666 Mornings, (25th May 2010) about the new Bachelor of Advanced Computing which ANU is offering from 2011.

Dr Gardner believes that the problems confronting society in areas like health, the environment, and security call for a different breed of computing graduate. These graduates will have a multidisciplinary focus to bring to bear on new challenges - some of which we haven't even thought of yet.

In the arts, new technologies that marry up creative expression, new media and computing present their own unique challenges for those students seeking innovative ways to explore these disciplines, and broaden their potential for working in exciting new fields in the arts and entertainment worlds.

Dr Gardner will be speaking at the computing careers evening at ANU on Wednesday 26th May 2010.
