Student project awarded by ACS

A group of six Software Engineering students were recongised at the Australian Computer Society ICT Awards on Thursday 15 November.

Lynette Johns-Boast, Samuel Hawkins, Petar Kolaric and Joel Palmer. Rahul Rajaram, Saham Abeyasinghe and Bo Huai Jiang.

The group won the ACS ICT Student Project Award for their work developing a mobile application for Orion Health, New Zealand's largest software exporter and a global leader in eHealth technology.

The mobile application is designed to assist in diabetes management and will also integrate with the Personally Controlled Electronic Health Record (PCEHR) system.

Projects are judged on their approach and justification of concept, expected and demonstrated effectiveness, as well as their practical application and benefits.

The mobile app was developed and presented in the Software Engineering industry project in October.

Another two Software Engineering student groups were finalists for this award for their projects with CutOrange and CEA Technology.
