College research well above world standards

The College of Engineering & Computer Science received very positive results in the 2012 Excellence in Research for Australia report released on 6 December.

Research quality in the discipline of computer science was awarded a score of 5, the highest possible rating that indicates research quality ‘well above world standard’. While research quality in the discipline of engineering was rated ‘above world standard’ receiving a score of 4.

College Dean, Professor John Hosking is impressed with the performance of the College “it is the work of both academics producing the research outputs, and professional staff supporting them to do so, that is recognised in these results”.

Across the board, ANU has topped the nation, with 88.7% of research fields rated a 4 or 5.
