CSIT Local Policy on Children in the Workplace
The University has such a policy which covers all areas. The CSIT Local Policy adds to this the following points:
- Children must be supervised by a CSIT staff member / graduate student at all times.
- Children must not be permitted to remain hazardous and restricted locations in the CSIT Building (see Appendix A of the above policy). These are deemed to include:
N309 Resources Room , N323 (new library area), N202 TSG common area, server rooms (N103, N104, N201), other machine rooms (N231, N234, N238 HCI Lab), workshops (N209 TSG Lab, N321 MothLab, N236 Mind-attention Interface Lab) and store rooms (N210, N310).
- Other areas should be made as safe as reasonably possible. This includes covering unprotected power outlets in prominent areas, e.g. corridors (arrangements with cleaners may need to be made). It also includes the removal of potentially hazardous junk from prominent areas.
