ANU OHS recently sent out a batch of brochures. ACTION: Office to distribute brochures to all CSIT offices. 4. New hazard and injury reports An incident last week involving honorary staff member requiring sudden hospitalization was discussed. Peter noted that the Injury Report was not yet filed in the appropriate folder. Issues raised were: * the lift is too small for a stretcher * the first aid kit needs restocking * for such instances, a blanket is needed. Peter conveyed the thanks of the person's concerned for the prompt and effective assistance of the DCS staff. ACTION: Office to organize restocking of first aid kit and purchase of blanket. 5. CSIT stairwell lighting: recent upgrade Peter reported, that in response to Mandy Yialeloglou's request in late August, lighting in the main CSIT stairwell had been upgraded. Peter passed on Doug Palmer's comment that CSIRO was happy with the job. 6. Workplace Inspection Program 2008 - DCS The Inspection Reference Sheets and Coversheets were discussed. A natural division between general and office areas was noted, and furthermore these were largely covered by the annual building inspections and office checks. ACTION: Peter and James to undertake the inspection of the general areas, and Julie and De to undertake those related to work environment and office. This is to be completed by Dec 22. 7. Any other business Peter reported that according to the DCS workloads spreadsheet he was not down for OHS chair in 2009 but that Clem was. Clem responded that this arrangement should be regarded as unconfirmed. There was some general discussion that with the College restructuring and general staff belonging to the College rather than CS that the future membership of the Committee was unclear. Possibly the (successor) Committee would be covering the new School of Computing, rather than CSIT/DCS. However, it was also noted the formation of OHS Committees were based on Designated Work Groups, and currently CSIT (North) is a DWG on it own. ACTION: Peter to inform the incoming Head of the School of Computing on this issue. Meeting concluded 14:45
