Welcome to my ANU website. I joined the ANU in March 2007 as a Masters by research student at the Department Of Computer Science (DCS). I am looking into running Statistical Machine Learning (SML) applications on Graphical Processing Units (GPU).
NVIDIA have released a new platform (CUDA) for general purpose computing on their graphical processing units (GPU). My research evaluates use of this platform for SML applications. As the bulk of many SML applications is spent in Matrix vector products and many datasets are very sparse (99% and up), we are implementing sparse matrix vector products (SpMV) on the GPU.
