Computational Understanding of Paintings

Project Code: CECS_839

This project is available at the following levels:
Honours, Summer Scholar, Masters, PhD

Keywords:

computer vision, image analysis, visual attention, HCI

Supervisors:

Assoc Professor Henry Gardner
Dr Lexing Xie

Outline:

This project is a collaboration between computer scientists and artists. The aims include building automated algorithms and systems to analyse and interact with painting images in artistically meaningful ways. There are multiple sub-topic available, such as: image analysis for paintings, mathematical models of the different elements in visual art, machine learning with high-dimensional large data, and novel human-computer perception and interaction paradigms.

Goals of this project

For more detail, please *write to Lexing Xie* with a brief statement of your experiences and interests.
