ABSTRACT:
Data provenance has received increasing attention from the research community over the past couple of years. This increasing attention has lead to an erratic rise in the number of provenance(-related) publications. Based on a recent survey of existing publications, Dr Mueller will summarize selected work on data provenance, and highlight popular and influential publications and authors. He will furthermore try to give a classification of provenance research based on its evolution from database theory until the embracement by the Semantic Web community. For each of the identified classes, he will briefly discuss selected publications and highlight some of the ongoing research efforts.
