ABSTRACT:
As the size and complexity of scientific problems and datasets grow, scientists from a broad range of discipline areas are relying more and more on computational methods and simulations to help solve their problems. To keep up with this growing demand, CSIRO is utilising GPUs and multi-core CPUs on a scale ranging from single workstation installations through to large GPU clusters. This presentation will provide an overview of the CSIRO GPU computing cluster, the organisational support and training models we use to help scientists solve practical and challenging problems using GPUs and heterogeneous computing, and a number of CSIRO GPU computing success stories and ongoing projects.
