ABSTRACT:
I will present my thoughts on how you do research that has a large impact. The talk was originally prepared for an internal workshop at Microsoft Research Cambridge (where this was the introductory talk). I will summarise a range of empirical evidence and case studies on what matters (and what does not matter). The talk may help you do better and more impactful research.
