Help with course material and assignments
There are a number of ways that you can seek help. Remember, if you
are having a particular problem, the chances are that some of your
peers have (or will) also encounter it.
Your peers: these can be a valuable source of
help, especially if you take the effort to `network' with them
(which may prove valuable in the future). Having said that,
when it comes to assignments, the amount of help you should
ask for (or give) is limited: see the DCS Student Handbook
for more details.
Phorum: On the
Course Announcement Board, we will put up FAQs and address
any significant problems encountered so far.
On the
Course Discussion Board, your question may have already been
addressed (and solved) by some of your peers.
Your Tutor: if it can wait till your next class, you can bring
the problem up with your tutor.
Drop-in Labs:
A number of one or two hour sessions in the DCS labs will be run
weekly, depending on demand. The schedule will be announced and
updated in lectures and on the
COMP1100 web site. They are be for the purpose of reviewing
concepts, completing laboratory exercises and help with
assignments. Starting in Week 3, the schedule is as follows:

The Course Lecturers are also available for

Consultation times will be posted here when we have settled the
timetable.
