Submission Details

Exercise 2 is to be submitted in your Lab Session in Week 4.

The command to use (on a unix command line) is:

submit comp2400 ex2 ci.sql

OR

submit comp6240 ex2 ci.sql

(depending upon which course you are enrolled in).

If you have trouble submitting your file , ask your tutor for assistance during your Lab Session in Week 4.

How to Do Exercise 2

Your task for this Exercise is to copy one of the public tables from The Video Store (TVS) database and to create one new row of test data on your copy of the table.

1. Copy and save the supplied code as  ci.sql  in an appropriate folder in your student home directory  eg comp6240/ex2.

2. Update your  ci.sql  by replacing each  <description>  with appropriate text.

   Do not put any other commands in your  ci.sql  file.

3. After making sure that you are in the correct directory, test your  ci.sql  by starting it at an SQL prompt.

4. Submit your updated copy of  ci.sql  (see above).

   Do not attempt to submit your  ci.sql  file at an SQL prompt.
