Thirty one-hour lectures will be given during the semester.
There are thirty-nine (3 x 13) lecture slots set aside
in the timetable. The Lecture Schedule
shows which lecture slots will be used. Check it regularly.
You should attend all scheduled lectures.
If you cannot attend lectures regularly, you are advised to withdraw from COMP2400/6240.
If you ignore this advice, you stay
enroled at your own risk.

If you do miss a lecture, you should:
Check the Lecture Outline for the relevant lecture
Check the Handouts web page to see if you have missed any handouts
Check the Messages to see if you have missed any important announcements
Ask your friends and relations for information on the material covered in the lecture
"I don't go to lectures" is not sufficient reason for you to be given individual tutoring.

Turn off your mobile phone(s) in the lecture theatre.
If you must have your phone on because you are waiting for a life and death call, have your phone handy so that you can answer it immediately.
Don't come to lectures to chat.
It is one thing to whisper a simple message "See you in
the coffee shop after this" or to make a short comment
on the lecture material.
It is another thing to disturb those students who do wish to pay
attention.
No hints will be given about the assignment/exam if students spend the lecture chatting.

Lecture outlines are not lecture notes.
Lecture outlines do not record everything (of importance) that was said in lectures.
Lecture outlines are made available to assist students who are
attending lectures.
Lecture outlines are not provided
as an alternative to lecture attendance.
Lecture outlines are available via the Lecture Schedule.
