COMP2110/2510 - Software Design

Assessment scheme

Your grade for COMP2110/2510 will be based on your results in the following assessable components of the course.

Lab Presentations (group): 10 marks

During the course, students will participate in five Lab Presentations (see the course schedule). Each lab presentation is assessable and will be completed in small groups of 3-4 students. Each group will hand in their presentation slides no later than 1 day after each Lab. Tutors will assess each group's work and will assign an individual mark to each student.

Note that Lab attendance is mandatory.

The lecture attendance is not compulsory, but strongly encouraged. Occasionaly I will check students' attendence for the sake of educational research

Assignment 1: 15 marks

Assignment 2: 13 marks

Assignment 3: 12 marks

Final examination (individual, open book): 50 marks

A 3 hour examination will be held, under normal examination conditions, during the Semester Two examination period. The aim of this examination will be to assess your overall understanding and ability to use software analysis and design techniques.

Requirements to pass the course

To pass COMP2110/2510, students must achieve a mark of at least 5/10 for the labs, 20/40 for the sum of their three assignments, and 25/50 for the final exam.

Moderation

Final marks may be moderated by the School of Computer Science examiners' meeting.
