COURSE ASSESSORS: Malcolm Newey and Chris Johnson
A student who does not achieve at least 30% in the final
examination will automatically fail the course unless other
mitigating circumstances prevail.
A student who undertakes a supplementary examination but does
not pass will also fail the course.
The assignments will all be problem examples in the areas indicated above. Each will have a duration that is proportional to its weight, as follows, and they vary in the extent to which they are group based.
In the case of assignment 3 group work will be part of the
requirements, with target group size being 3. For assignment
2, students may work individually or in groups of 2.
Assignment 1 is individual work.
It is expected that assignments will be handed in on time, but
a late penalty of 10% per day will apply.
Students enrolled in COMP6312 do only the inspection
assignment and the process-oriented half of the exam. The
assignment 3 weight then becomes 50%.
Honours students who
are taking the course for 3 points declare which half
they will be assessed on and the above component weights
are adjusted in the obvious way.
