Proposed project title: Cooperative environmental sensing 

Brief description: Develop a distributed similarity metric for events of interest based on location cues (direction of arrival) and frequency/ waveform signatures of acoustic signals. This metric would be utilized for optimizing data storage and transmission in cooperative environmental sensing applications.
