Solving climate change has become one of the world's greatest challenges. Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
is both part of the problem and part of the
solution to climate change. A study sponsored by the Australian Computer Society (ACS) has shown that computers and telecommunications equipment in Australia generated 7.94Mt of carbon dioxide in 2005.
If you are interested in helping your organization promote itself as carbon friendly and also wish to advance your own career and help the environment, then this course is for you.
About the course
This course aims to teach students how they can help reduce carbon emissions. Students will learn about ICT strategies through online learning,
which includes tutoring, mentoring, student discussion forums and weekly feedback. The course is led by Tom Worthington (FACS, HLM), an independent ICT consultant to Government and Industry and adjunct Senior Lecturer at ANU.
