The Role of Literate Computing in Undergraduate Curricula TR-CS-94-01

Abstract:

Teaching medium scale program design to second-year computer science students is highly desirable, but difficult to incorporate within an already fully-loaded course structure. An intermediate objective is to introduce literate programming, through the medium of the WEB system. We describe our experience with the use of WEB in a second-year student project for a syntax-tree analyser.
