Yes. Program Committee members are invited to submit papers to TPHOLs'98. Such papers will, of course, be properly and independently reviewed.
Papers for refereeing will be e-mailed as PostScript to program committee members for review. A review form will be mailed along with each paper.
It is important that we have thorough reviewing to ensure only high quality papers are accepted for publication. To make efficient use of Program Committee member's time we will limit the number of reviews requested for each paper. Submissions under the formal research paper category will be sent to three program committee members for review, while papers submitted under the work in progress category will be sent to just one committee member for review. This scheme requires that each review be reliable, punctual, and thorough.
We try to match your fields of interest (as supplied by you) with the area of the paper (as supplied by the author).
Program committee members are welcome to pass on an allocated paper to a colleague (an additional reviewer) for review. At the time the paper is passed on please e-mail the Organising Committee the name and e-mail address of the additional reviewer, and ask them to read this Guide for Reviewers.
Additional reviewers should be chosen to be of a sufficiently high standard to maintain the reputation of the conference and with appropriate experience to review the paper. Ordinarily we would not expect research students to be chosen as additional reviewers, however exceptions could be made in the case of talented and published PhD students in the latter stages of their course.
Additional reviewers should not pass their papers on.
If you can't review a paper, for whatever reason (you may find that your knowledge of the area is inadequate, or that you have a conflict of interest), please e-mail the Organising Committee as soon as possible, so that another reviewer can be found. Suggestions of an appropriate reviewer will be most welcome.
Reviews are required no later than
Friday 24 April 1998 for formal research papers, and
Friday 17 July 1998 for work in progress papers.
To submit your review, please complete the form sent to you with the paper and e-mail the completed form to the TPHOLs'98 Organising Committee: TPHOLs98@cs.anu.edu.au.
Submission of a review will be acknowledged by e-mail.
Yes. We anticipate papers falling into one of three categories: those which clearly should be accepted, those which clearly should be rejected, and the rest. We will discuss the status of the papers in the latter group with the program committee members responsible for their review. When the status of each paper is known, the Program Committee will be informed.
As in previous years, the names of the Program Committee, and of the additional reviewers, will be listed at the front of the conference proceedings.
