The HMVE project is a collaborative venture between the Robotics Systems Lab (RSL) in the Research School of Information Science and Engineering (RSISE) and the ACSys VE Program. The goal of the project is to develop the technology to remotely control both mobile and staionary robots through the use of VE interfaces. The long term objective of the project is to create an environment in which a mobile robot can move about and manipulate its environment under the control of an operator located at a remote site using a Haptic Workbench. For more information on this project, please see the Robotics Systems Lab web site or contact the project leader, Dr. Alex Zelinsky.
