Current Research

Currently, I'm working with the Virtual Environments laboratory, which is a program run jointly by the CSIRO Mathematical and Information Sciences department (CMIS) and the department. My main contributions are development and integration of MEPG-4 for the laboratories demonstrators, and in industry collaboration for e-commerce.

Previous Research

The Advanced Server Technologies program on the upside project (Utilising Persistence and Scalable Information management in Distributed Environments).

This project involves designing scalable transactional object storage systems for use with orthogonally persistent systems and languages.

Most of the work is based Steve Blackburns' PhD dissertation ``Persistent Store Interface: A foundation for scalable persistent design''. PSI is a concrete interface of an abstraction of the transactional object cache architecture. The AP/Linux project, porting linux to the Fujitsu AP+ and developing an integrated parallel run-time environment. Here is a bibliography.

The HiDIOS High Performance Distributed IO System on the Fujitsu AP1000, and bibliography.

Message Passing Systems, including porting PVM3 to the Fujitsu AP1000, and helping with the implementation of MPI.

Personal Interests

So, outside of computing, my main interests are playing music, golf, ultimate, my kids, sailing, getting outside, travel and lots of stuff.

Hopefully, I will fill this out sometime, with some gifs'n stuff. But here's a couple of other photo's anyway. Like these two at the Departmental Melbourne Cup Day '97
