Dr James Popple is an Adjunct Lecturer in the School of Computer Science, College of Engineering and Computer Science at the Australian National University.

He is also a barrister and solicitor, and a First Assistant Secretary in the Australian Attorney-General's Department.

As part of his PhD research, he developed a legal expert system called SHYSTER. Some of his publications—in the fields of law and information technology—are available on-line.

James is an amateur photographer. Most of his amateur photographs can be viewed at Flickr; a few are available at Picasa Web Albums.
Some are also available (through Panoramio) in Google Earth.
