ANU Data Analytics Benchmark Project

There is strong demand for a new breed of professionals skilled in data analytics in Australia and also around the world. This is due to the rapid expansion of a digitally enabled environment that has broadened both threats and opportunities in data-driven innovation. The overall goal of the project is to develop an “intelligent” data analysis learning framework that uses latest data-driven technologies to support personalised learning in a real-time and flexible manner. We envision this project as our first step towards exploring the potential of using Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques to assist in teaching and learning in the education space.

The following figure presents an overview of the DataAnalytics-Bench system that will be developed in the project, as well as a public website for communicating with external users. In general, the DataAnalyticsBench system has three key components: data analysis platform, real-time personalised learning tools, and a suite of real-world learning resources.

This project is funded by an ANU Vice-Chancellor's Teaching Enhancement Grant (TEG) for "DataAnalytics-Bench: Personalised Learning in Large Classes", and built upon the previous TEG project "CodeBench: An online, interactive environment for mastering the Craft of Computing".
