Reimagine Co Design Culture Lab

reimagine 2050
Our lived experience is increasingly one of large-scale systems of people, whose actions and interactions are influenced by our digital, physical and biological environment. We and our technology are highly interconnected and yet highly diverse.
Somebody, somewhere designed, built, and operates almost everything. The engineers, computer scientists and designers of the future need to be fluent in a range of traditional and contemporary technical languages. They also need to be able to understand and learn from people of all different backgrounds and experiences.
Our CoDesign team have been organising a series of events and conversations that provide opportunities to explore together the questions that will guide our path forward.
Running from Wednesday 26 November to Friday 29 November 2019, the Reimagine CoDesign Culture Lab comprises 3.5 days of coordinated activities organised around the shared goal of exploring creativity and collaboration in teaching, research, and the practice of engineering and computer science.
Over the course of 2 days, you can take part in presentations and workshops that are led by practitioners showcasing their work and describing how they approach it.
And for 1.5 days, you’ll be able to discuss new approaches to teaching and learning that better address the changing needs of today’s graduates as well as the people who will be solving the problems of the 21st century and beyond.
Organisations and businesses we are working with to create and run workshops include:
Others will be announced as we confirm their participation.

How to participate

The CoDesign Culture Lab combines sessions that are open to all ANU students, faculty and staff with practitioner community sessions that have limited capacity. Due to this limited capacity, students are required to submit an Expression Of Interest (EOI). This EOI process is open to all undergraduate and postgraduate ANU students.

IMPORTANT: Given the limited number of places available for this event, it is essential that all selected students be able to attend the entire 3.5 days of programming.

For faculty members and staff, preference will be given to those who can attend the whole event, but please nominate for the sessions you’d like to attend.

Apply as early as possible to avoid disappointment. Application deadline is Sunday 22 September.
