Dr Enrico Scala

I am a research fellow at ANU, recently moved from Turin (Italy) where in March 2013 I took my PhD degree under the supervision of Prof. Pietro Torasso. I have worked on a number of projects aimed at the integration of artificial intelligence techniques for the intelligent superivsion and control of autonomous systems such as planetary rovers or unmanned air vehicular. Now, I am working on a ARC project, "Robust AI Planning for Hybrid Systems" which is aimed at studying how automated planning can be used for controlling real world systems such as future energy systems.

My research interests is artificial intelligence with a focus on automated planning and scheduling. In particular, I am interested in model based approaches to hybrid planning problems, problems involving logical and numeric variables. I am interested in their generation (via heuristic search or via compilation to SMT), (robust) execution and repair.
