My research aims at understanding forming and failure behaviour of woven composites under rapid manufacturing techniques. I develope material models to predict forming behaviours of composite materials through extensive characterisation experiments. I develope novel criteria to predict failure and wrinkling onset in woven thermoplastic composite materials. I incorporate material models and failure/wrinkling criteria into finite element simulations to predict failure onset under different deformation modes.
