Interactive Music, Art, and Media

Computers present a range of possibilities for artistic expression in music, art, and media.

In this project you will develop an independent exploration of interactive music, art and media by creating a new artefact/artwork or a tool for artistic expression.

The output could be an app, an interactive web page, an AR/VR experience, or a physical/tangible computing device.

You could draw inspiration from ANU courses such as COMP1720/6720 (Art and Interaction Computing), COMP2300/6300 (Computer Organisation and Program Execution) or COMP3900 (Human Computer Interaction), creating a more detailed or ambitious project than would be possible in your previous coursework.

The project will be documented and presented in the context of academic research into interactive music, art, and media (e.g., at the NIME, CHI, or SIGGRAPH conferences) and you will perform some form of evaluation to understand how it works in practice.
